A look back
I am excited to announce the upcoming 24th anniversary of CKG Training & Consulting. International Women’s Day’s proximity to my company’s anniversary allowed me to reflect on these past amazing 24 years, but the most influential year by far was the last one. Everyone is aware of how tumultuous the year 2020 was.
From a global pandemic to uprisings calling out racist and discriminatory behavior, we were all taken aback by how overwhelming our every-day lives became. Covid-19 has propelled us into the virtual world. We’ve brought our trainings online; we’ve had virtual conferences and we’ve done so with companies across the globe. Recent history-marking events such as the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd have allowed many to finally speak out on racial injustices. Closer to home, we witnessed an increase in racial profiling, an increase in hate crimes against Asians and most recently signs of overt racism evident in our Healthcare system. This undeniably powerful movement — along with many others demanding equality and equity — has made many companies realize the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion within their own message.
The wellness of employees is now being placed at the forefront of many companies’ concerns and they are reaching out to us to support them in strengthening inclusive leadership, create awareness and understanding and foster a environment of belonging. As the demand for change grew within organizations, so did my team. Without them, CKG would not be where it is today. In following posts, I will be proudly introducing the members of CKG whom have been with me for years, as well as new members I am excited to see grow and develop within the company.
Together, we are eager to see what 2021 has in store for us and we cannot wait to unveil new projects and courses on the horizon.
Stay tuned. We have a lot of exciting content to share with you all soon.
Be well,
Karen
